2. is business listing and directories same?
3. how can i find business listing/directories on the web
4. what are the benefits of it to our website

1/ it's a list of businesses

2/ basically yes. Directories will list any type of site within their TOS, Business listings will only list businesses.

3/ Search for your business type. I they appear in the SERPs for the phrase it could be a useful link/contact point.

4/ It can bring qualified traffic (see 3)

Since Hirst answered 1, 2, 4, and part of 3, I'll finish off 3 and try to answer 5.

How can you submit to them?

1. Find the directory site.
2. Either find the web form that every directory site has for inclusion requests and fill it out (usually it's within the category you want to be listed in), or email the owner of the site and ask them.
3. Repeat steps 1-2 for each new directory site.
