If I use a 301 redirect for my entire site will I still be able to use the domain functions?

I have a domain that I use for hosting(it is a reseller hosting account). With this site I have a hosting script installed and I use the sites cpanel for many things realted to the accounts I host.

I now have a new website that is hosted by my orginal site(domain). I need to redirect everything to the new site but I still need to have access to my Cpanel and other functions such as WHM & WHMAP.

What is the best way to do this? By the way, I have good ranking with my orginal site and was told that the 301 redirect would help to preserve some of the rankings.

You should still be able to get to the old cPanel as long as you know the IP# it is hosted on. The format xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/cpanel still worked for me on an old account after the dns had resolved to the new account.

You won't be able to use mydomain/cpanel because that will be redirected I am thinking.

This is pure speculation but I bet WHM would work the same way.

If you don't recall the ip of your current host, just ping it to get the number before you change anything.

And please do post the final answer back to this thread.

Well, I gave it a go. After trying the full site 301 I was still able to loginto my WHM and my Cpanel with the actual domain. even with the IP I was not able to reach a script I have installed in the public_html floder. I then tried to just redirect the index page and was still unable to reach it. I think I may have a couple of other things to try. I'll update when I try those.
