i'd say provide great content... any amount of link building will not be as successful if you don't have content that will interest users. Others will naturally link to you if you have nice content.

is it true, that its good for SEO for your logo at the top of your pages to be linked to your homepage and also to have ALT text containing keywords?

It doesn't have to be the logo linking to the homepage, But every page should have a link back to the homepage.

An alt attribute should be used to describe the image. Search engines to pick up on alt attributes, But they aren't that important and keyword stuffing them will have no possitive effect.

It very difficult to just which is no1 seo tip. No one can give assurance which is no1 seo tips.

I firmly believe with the following facts.

1. Regular up dates of website
2. Content modification
3. Link exchange (not with the lik farmers)
4. Submittion to directories
5. Use of Meta tags, Alt tags
7. Articles

Note :- if you can exchange lik with govt. & edu relates sites.

Our Company uses a well known Optimisation company and I can honestly say its the best move we ever made. Obviously I can't mention their name but I can't believe the results they have achieved for us. Well worth the money if you want to promote your site.
