hi everybody,

can someone let me know how can i submit a newly website to google, msn and yahoo. is submission free in these search engines?. and if it is free then pls write the exact submit url of google, yahoo and msn.

and also tell me how can i do search engine submission for my website. i have a "web design and development" related website.

Don't submit to search engines, it's pointless, get backlinks and let them find you on thier own.

If you still want to submit just google "submit to google".

a good way to get your website listed in google for a short period, is to find a high PR site link to your website.

Search google for your website keyword (the broadest one), then from list of the website, find one with high PR, then contact the webmaster to link to your site and tell him/her you will link back. You probably have to pay for it, though...

If you manage to get a PR 6 or above site to link back to you, your website will be in google in about 24 hours

Satyendra there's no reason at all to submit your site to search engines. Just get some other sites linking to it and they will find you. An easy way to get a link pointing to your site is add one in your forum signature here.

Forums are generally spidered often by search engines and they will see your link. You more you post the more chances they have to find your link.

It will take a little time even with the links to get indexed (give it a month), but it won't be any faster if you submit your site. If you need help adding a link in your signature feel free to post here and we'll help you set one up.

it means that it is not compulsory to submit a new website to search engines.

then without submitting to google,msn and yahoo, the website will be indexed in these search engines?

this is my final confusion. pls make it clear.

You need to gain links to your site in order to be indexed. Search engine spiders traverse the various links on the web and crawl around looking for new/updated stuff.

You can start by putting a hyperlink in either your forum signature or the Website field of your profile. That should do it in about 48-72 hours.

But you'll need between 5-10 good inbound links to ensure that you get initially indexed...so go out and find places that will quickly and easily include your site's hyperlink.

Satyendra if you add a link to your site in your forum signature here that will most likely be enough to get your site indexed. More links, especially more links from trusted and related sites will help make it a little quicker.

But if you do add a link in your forum signature here and everywhere else you post that should be enough.

You do not need to submit your site to a search engine. It's generally better to let them find you through links pointing to your site.

Dmoz is free.

Go to dmoz.org and find the best catagory for your site, then click "suggest URL".

St0x is right. It is free, but there's no general URL for submission. You have to use their butt-ugly, obsolete, out-of-date pile of garbage to navigate to the "most appropriate category" (read: lowest level category you can find) and then submit.

And then depending on what categeory you submitted to, you'll need to be paient, possibly extremely patient. Submit and forget about it. Whatever you don't agonize over whether or not you get in.

Well, in my case, I had experiences where manually submitting to google gave me harm than any advatage. It took me about 5 months to get included. But, now, I got in in only 2 months. Not a good ranking although. But, I'm gonna improve since I achieved the 1st task.

Let them come to you by backlinking..
If you want to submit, just use their sites and do manual submission..
