In other words, it varies so much from engine to engine and rumour to rumour based on whatever self-professed expert happens to spout off about SEO theory that you're better off just ignoring all of it.

If you have one more keyword than you need you have too much. It should we well written content that is easy to read and easy to understand.

You should ensures that you haven't got too little of your main keywords in the page and also make sure that you are not keyword spamming the search engines by having too many keywords in a page.
