In a word:

NO!!!!!!!!!

There is absolutely no benefit whatsoever to paying thise companies to submit to 400 search engines, since at least 398 of those engines will be engines you and I have never even heard of with about 5 visitors per month, 4 of which are the engine owner's maternal and paternal grandparents who mistook the bookmark for their favourite recipe site or online store for the purchase of rainbow suspenders.

If you're looking for traffic from search engines or otherwise, the best thing you can do for yourself is to build yourself a quality site and get enough inbound links (usually 1 is required, but more is better) from various sources so that the major engines (Google, Yahoo!, and MSN) will crawl and index the site.

Your forum signature is a good start, although you may wish to add some text to it (look at my signature to see what I mean).
Code:
[url = http://www.yourURL.com]Text used to describe the URL here[/url]
There's the code if you want to do so, except that you will need to remove the first two spaces (in other words, URL=http...)

In other words, there are plenty of free ways to get traffic. Paying someone to "submit to engines" is a complete, utter, and total waste of time.

Same big no here. Now if it was 400 directories with high PRs that might be successful in both traffic and SEO.

Thank You

Steve listen to everything Adam said. Do not pay anyone to submit your site in a search engine. If you do then you should also give an eqaul amount of money to every member of this forum. Paying us to do nothing will get you exactly the same thing as submitting to search engines.

You don't need to pay someone and you don't need to find an automated program and you don't need to submit your site manually.

There is no need to submit your site to a search engine unless you like wasting your time.

Just get some links pointing to your site and the search engines will find you. A link in your forum signature will be fine. More links will increase the odds of a search spider finding your site and most likely reduce the time it takes to get indexed.

trichonisis - submitting your site manually is also a waste of time. It will not help your site get indexed any faster.

I agree completely with vangogh. I tried the free submission think and nothing seemed to work.

I would like to recommend start submitting your website url to search engines and directories on your own. It will not take much time.

You can get the list of top directories and se's in any forum.

Even i can provide you with it if you want.

Just let me if you want the list.

Regards/Puneet M

I've heard directories are much better especially ones with good PR. Try to do it yourself also so you can hand pick them.

Apparently people are still ignoring the two most knowledgeable posters in this thread (Steve and Adam). Don't manually submit your sites to any search engines ever, especially if they aren't one of the big players. It's just a waste of time. You can get your site indexed just as fast or faster by putting a link to your site on your profile and in your sig and then just contributing every now and then. Directories are also a good option, as they can contribute backlinks, PR, and potentially some traffic. You can find some good ones at Directory Critic (not my site, I just like it). Just be careful not to get too many backlinks too fast. Google doesn't like that.

Vangogh is right. There's no point in submitting your site to search engines. Because search engines are supposed to finding you. And they will. Just be patient and do some link building efforts. Get some links on popular sites.

I heard that google gives more reputation for those website they find on their own because if you're submitting to search engines, the engines arent that stupid to trust you because you are literally demanding listing which itself reveals your motive of getting traffic to your site than providing quality content.

Its true that it isnt easy to get in this way. I think Text-link-ADs can really help in getting some link boost. Just buy some high PR links for a month and you'll find yourself on the engines. Well, when we're talking about link building, read this hot article Text-Link-ADs acquired by Mediawhiz.

Well, this method actually worked for me. I got a nice link from my friend who's in google tops and I got instant "back-stage pass(lol)" to google. This works with other engines too. Expecially MSN. They'll track u up faster than any other engine.

Actually, google is the most slow when it comes to inclusion. Especially the sandbox and 6 month domain age and stuff. But, to my surprise, my site got in google with a domain aged 2 months. I dont know why. But, I'm happy.. Anyway, try spending that money on getting some quality links and you'll surely get the results.

If this post helped you, ehem ...... do u mind giving me some talkupation ? Just asking .

Dont submit to 400 search engines, but definitly submit to directories.

Directories wont bring you much traffic either but will get you backlinks.

Also, fix your signature link. The link text is very important. Use the following link instead of what you have: Join Free and Win Real Cash
