dont know about that, but i got a site related to moderately competitive industry in the top 10 only by forum sig links.

So even a link placed within a sign-up forum can be crawled.?...or is it just the kind of half open forum, where lets say you google something and end up there all you can do is read posts (but not answer without creating an account)?

If the page requires a login google can't view the page.

Link Trade the higher PR the better of course consider also the relevance of your site for a quality link as well.

aside from directory and search engine submission, you can get back links from related sites to yours. It will be a great help to improve your rankings.

Also, you can create articles, press release and blogs for link building and it can also increase your traffic.

Promotional Ads can help too.

That's the link you have after each post, they are good at increasing your traffic, however useless for PR, as their urls are dynamic and they aren't cached by Google.

forums sig will help you improve your backlinks...the more post the more backlinks...there are a lots of forums you can use to and by joining forums you'll not just improve your link popularity but also you'll learn from the members and so they will with you....
