Adding link to right website, adding more link to wrong website or untrusted website will not improve traffic to your website, so you can use the hours for writting fresh content articles, Newsletters and press release.

1. Spend enough advertising (e.g. pay-per-click, text links, banner ads) and SEO.
2. Build unique quality content that encourages people to come back again and again to your site.
Option 1 doesn't require a great deal of creativity but can be quite expensive.
With Option 2, you just need to attract a handful new visitors at a time to build your 5000/a day readership (but the trick is to have the content to get the job done).

Try listing your web site to search engine and directories. There are many directories that offer free listings. Use a tool to submit your site to search engines and directories. A tool like this one may help you. This particular tool have around 4000 directories and search engines listed, most of them offers free listings.
But that assumes those banners get clicked. Banners have some of the worst click through rates online. The CTR is usually under 1% if I'm not mistaken, though I admit I could be wrong on that number.
If it's working for you then that's great and I wouldn't want you to change something because of my opinion.
I just think there are better ways to spend your marketing time and money than autosurf programs.
