How can I get 5000 visitors per day? That's my target this time. Are there any good ideas?

Is this before you give up your site after 2 months or in a few years after you have learned that buying a turnkey site isn't the instant path to riches??

5000 visitors a day doing what?
just visiting, buying, trying to hack your site, spaming?
I recon you could get 5000 visitors if you had a pr8 site and let anyone post a link to their site. Have you thought about how much it costs in bandwidth to have that many people visit your site? I'd rather have 100 nice people drop buy and enjoy my site than 10,000 idiots messing about. One thing though, if you have 10 visitors a day now all you have to do is double your visitors every month for nine months and you'll have 5,000 visits a day!

Amy: you want search engine traffic, you want visitors, you want a successful site, but you're not willing to work at it and GIVE those visitors anything.

Either put in the effort or don't bother thinking about it anymore.

Amy there aren't any secrets to getting visitors. In fact I'd give the same exact advice for attracting one visitor as I would 5,000 visitors. Start with content that someone wants to read or that someone finds useful and then get the word out about that content.

Spend some time reading through the forums here. I think we've discussed just about every idea for getting traffic at some point in the last month.

It all starts by creating something of value that people want to view read, use, etc. See that link in Adam's signature for the search engine friendly layouts? If I'm not mistaken Adam has done very little to actively promote what's on the other side of the link. Yet I know he gets a lot of traffic to those layouts. The reason is because people fnd them very useful. Someone saw it and then recommended it and that person then recommended it too.

What he said. About my only form of promotion (if you want to call it that) is forum posting. I just happen to have built something that people use and love. I see referrals from all sorts of places I've never even heard of before they start hitting that site.

It all starts from having something unique and useful, as I said before. Right now, the site you're trying to plug is neither.

Mind you, it's not in the 5000 visitors per day field (yet), but it's growing steadily. One of my clients even commented on the spike yesterday.

(Now if I could just figure out the GAS end of it, then I'd really start pushing it out and I'd be all set.)

A slightly unethical way is to join a good banner exchange and then get banner impressions by using an autosurf program like stormhits.

Napoleon, ethical or not, those autosurf programs are pretty much useless. It's not just about traffic, but about getting targeted traffic. Auto traffic of any kind generally doesn't lead to sales or people signing up for a newsletter, or any other form of conversion. Autosurf traffic leads to requests made of your server and little else.

If you want I'll be happy to code a robot that will visit your site as many times as you would like. You'll have great looking numbers in your stats program, but that's about it. My robot has a poor credit history and doesn't qualify for a credit card

Yes, I know they are untargeted, but they will increase the number of page views and thus the number of banner impressions on your site. So, you will get more targeted visitors as your site will be shown on more websites using that banner exchange.

But that assumes those banners get clicked. Banners have some of the worst click through rates online. The CTR is usually under 1% if I'm not mistaken, though I admit I could be wrong on that number.

If it's working for you then that's great and I wouldn't want you to change something because of my opinion.

I just think there are better ways to spend your marketing time and money than autosurf programs.

Or you can also expand upon vangogh's idea of more
passive marketing with links - depending upon what your
actually promoting.

work harder on promotions and get many back links to your site. don't rush things, sometimes, its better if we work one day at a time, just work harder and continue optimizing your site.

also place something in your site that will get the attention of the visitors as what others here said.

Auto surf is the only way to get that much traffic suddenly. Or, you can invest HARD CORE in adwords and Yahoo! search marketing.

The same goes for buying traffic. It's good for inflating your stats, but its far better to get a few quality visitors than thousands that never go past your first page.

Is better to have targeted visitors, good&fresh content is the key for that.If you want to attract more traffic directory submissions, articles, reciprocal links.
