Hey, dude, I think writing for readers is better than writing for search engines. What you are trying to do is a perfect example of over optimization. Don't write for search engines. I think this article that wrote for a contest will help you. Its called Blogging is Karma. Here's the link :- http://weblogtoolscollection.com/arc...ging-is-karma/

I agree, the SE's read like a human would. So make it readable.
I agree with some of what has already been said. You should write for users first, before search engines. When you overuse keywords in an article it definitely comes through to the readers who most of the time just chalk it up to poor writing and then leave for good.

Earlier search engines used to lay equal emphasis on Keyword Proximity, Prominence and Density. But nowadays, Proximity and Prominence matters but density doesn't.
Keyword density varies from 5-20% according to keywords. But as Gringo said earlier that if you build pages keeping users in mind and maintain a density that will make a good read, you'll not only satisfy your users but also the Search Engines. But remember, that though keyword density really don't matter too much in SEO nowadays, but keyword stuffing surely does. Steer clear of keyword stuffing or else or would end up getting your site banned.
Content is still the king !

Dont focus much of your attention with your keyword density. but you should avoid of course keyword stuffing,. In doing such better comes after the information we will be getting as a reader,. and not, on how bots will crawl it.
like what they said... don't focus much on keyword density and other stuffs, but then make sure that you do the right thing for this stuff because it is important as well.
IMO, content is still the most important thing. optimize your site for the visitors not for the bots
Here is another thing to consider, a lot of people including myself at one time or another have checked the keyword density so it fit into the SE's the way they wanted. The problem with that is the SE's started saying hey there are those who are trying to trick us by giving us what we want. So they stopped focusing ranks on that. Just type it like you would read it!
Which is better to choose , Keyword Density and Promixity to increased traffic ?
I think both but as an SEO, we never focus on those things, keyword density and proximity are just additional hardwork. Just think of the best keywords in your site and analyze it using your tools.
When you overuse keywords in an article it definitely comes through to the readers who most of the time just chalk it up to poor writing and then leave for good.
This is a really good point - I hope people caught this.
