Hi everyone,

There are of course a lot of ways to find profit from your site and blogging can't be on the top of the list. My friend just creates a directory for webcams and profits from the traffic without having to worry about content and stuff. I was thinking I'd do the same for Global Property Guide (the site I'm currently helping to develop). But there's way too good content to just throw away. My question is,

How much space do I need to dedicate for the blog (in the homepage itself) and how much for ads and real content (news, etc.)?

I use FireFox with an ad blocker. Which means I'd probably leave your friend's site immediately, but might read yours and recommend it to a friend, or post a blog entry about it.

Now most people don't run ad blockers, so maybe it doesn't matter. But you're right to not want to toss your content that's way too good to just throw away. Even if you want to tell people like me to go f off, for browsing your web site without giving you ad revenue, the REAL point is people don't like ads, they're but one way you can benefit from running a web site, and I would recommend against devoting too much or too prominent space to them.
