I need to get some back links to my site and have a small budget.

Does Google's Adwords also count as back links?

Or

Would it be better to pay for some links on higher pr sites?

lo. no, adwords ads do not, obviously, count as backlinks. and if your budget is low, buy some high traffic quality link.

Actually, both of your ideas are wrong.

PageRank is a marginal factor at best now and blown way out of proportion by SEO wannabes who associate value with the little green portion of the toolbar.

If you must buy links at all, buy them from sites that will send you traffic. Never mind the backlinks/SEO thing for now. Try to find links that will send you actual users. The SEO, if your site is built right, will stem from that.

Adwords doesn't count as a backlink, either. It would be far too easy to manipulate something like that if Adwords did count as a backlink (throw money at it and away you go.)

Hey, if you're trying to get some good links to your site, I think you should get them from Authority sites like Problogger and stuff. Text-link-ads is a good option when your budget is low. Google Adwords is definitely not counted as back-links because the adsense code is javascript and Search bots can't read javascript.

u need "text link ads" kind of thing, if u looking to paid for links.
