Well ... what's the URL? Drop a link. That's a faux pas when it's not relevant to a conversation and you throw in a link just for the PR benefit you think it might give you ... but that's not the case. If you want advice, we need to see the site, what type of content there is, and things like that. ( You'll get advice from TV people but it's worthless. )
I'm guessing the site is fairly new? It's not cached, or it's not indexed? Notice how everybody replying to this thread has a signature with links back to their site? If you do the same, that will get you into Goggle's index, or at least get them to crawl you; what they think of the content will have some effect on what they do with your site.
The nice thing about Google traffic is that it's random; it's not limited to the people you know. But you can do a little bit of outreach - find forums related to the theme of your blog, for example. Comment on other peoples' blogs. Make them intelligent and insightful comments, and some readers will click to find out more.
