Howdy,

I would like to know which of the following would help me to rank better, presuming i was expecting users to search for "rock tshirts":

http://rock-tshirts.someonline.store
OR
http://www.someonline.store/rock-tshirts

Thanks

doesn't really matter

rankings, and I'm assuming you mean google rankings, are only really achieved by quality backlinks or completely unique site content that matches a specific keyword search.

For you to rank high with the phrase "Rock tshirts" you need to acquire a number of good quality links to your site with the phrase Rock tshirts being the anchor text for the link

eg, click for the latest Rock tshirts

also, you'd need to have the phrase Rock tshirts in the content of your site a number of times in a number of different ways

eg, in the title, in your H1 tags, H2 tags, in links, bold and regular text. In your meta tags keywords & description

Just don't overdo it - strike a balance

But links to your store from quality/relevant sites is paramount in getting good rankings - in a nutshell, quality links tell the search engines that this site is rated by many other sites and should therefore be rewarded with a higher ranking if its content matches.

A domain or subdomain doesn't really help that much I'm afraid - there's a lot of other SEO work to do
