Hi there

I have a question really, I have optimised my homepage to my chat room, so i have the right amount of keywords at the right ratio etc, on my homepage.

I know that changing the content of my homepage will get the search engines to come back to my page more often, but how do you keep the balance between updating the content on your pages and keeping your page optimised.

As it would be a complete pain to make sure you had the right ratios etc everytime you went to update the page.

Hi usearchme,

1) Forget keyword density. It's a pointless measure in isolation. There is no 'right ratio'.
2) Forget trying to get your pages crawled more often. More frequent crawling ensures that the information about your site (your content) is up to date, but if your content changes frequently naturally, your page will get crawled more frequently anyway.

To summarise the above, just write good content for your users

What gringo said. You're worried about non-issues.

Build for your users, and search engine traffic will stem from that.

Hi there

Thanks for the advice, i have often been worried about changing the content on my homepage cos of these issues.

So really its a good idea to keep it up to date as much as possible and keeping it all relevant.
