How do I find Good traffic keywords, what kind of tool or method would I use to be able to check for a keywords :competivness:?

How many backlinks is recommened to raise PR on a site....100+PR-4 back links would help a site ? Update well?

If Page Prediction of your website is PR-4 and you put out more good links could you have it go from PR -0 PR -6 in one shot ? =)

Measuring Keyword Competition

Toolbar PR does NOTHING for a site and PR prediction "tools" are a bigger waste of time than looking at the toolbar display.

Gaining toolbar PR is NOT a goal you should be focussing on.

Finding good long tail keywords for a site that has just begun.
What I do is: find keywords with a keyword tool, not the ones that are on the top results, but the ones that are on the bottom, then I search in google and I see how many results it's giving me, when it's under 100.000 results and that long tail keyword is being searched, I know I found a good keyword !

Some of what I go after is "long tail," too. Low competition means it doesn't take much work to hit page one. A good description that describes the page, why it's unique, and includes the keywords will help get users to click your page instead of someone else's. I don't focus on this exclusively, but a constant stream of 50 to 70 viewers a month is better than not having it, especially if it takes an hour.

As a strategy that's not going to work for most sites, but as another tool in the bag, it's a good idea.

Another good keyword strategy can be to pick out current news events and target those.

For example, I'm on the first page of at least some Google datacenters (I don't check datacenter ranking because it's a waste of time) for the term "Marc the Litter Guy" right now.

http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...the+Litter+Guy

Marc the Litter Guy has about 1,800,000 potential results, but it is sending me traffic (almost 3 digits' worth in a day). Sometimes the best SEO is psychic SEO.
