I don't know where this belongs to, but because this is webmasters forums, I decided to ask here.

I would like to buy a forum software (Although I am very poor, but I hate bad style/mod support for free softwares like SMF, PHPBB3, et cetera).

IPB and vB looks good, but which one?

If I calculated correctly:

IPB, 1 year = $150+$25 = $175
vB, 1 year = $160

IPB, 2 years = $150+$25+$25+$25 = $225
vB, 2 years = $160+$30 = $190

So vB is cheaper!

What do you think?

I have to confess to never using IPB, but vbullitin is a very powerful peice of software and there are some many mods to be used from vbullitin.org i really dont think you can beat VB

The support for VB was pretty good too even though it was just ticket support.

What about PHPBB. I sue this on a couple of sites and I don't know that I could ask for more from it. Here is one that we just put up if you want to see one in action:
