Wow. This is spam, and yet it's hand written (at least on the blog), it's actually pretty well thought out, and it's telling people NOT TO buy something. That's pretty unusual for spam.

The main problem is that reciprocal linking is dead as a dinosaur. I'm shocked to see how you encouraged people to try and go about sending emails asking for links in a non-spammy sounding way.

At the end of the day though an unsolicited email like that is the definition of spam. Just like reciprocal links aren't valued by Google, no matter how you phrase a request like that, it's not going to be taken politely.

Whatever it is, I couldn't get past the first paragraph...

Anything that starts out by making you feel like your reading a user manual holds zero interest for me. Call me crazy, but if you're going to post in a forum, you really should consider wording your comments in a natural, conversational mode.
