Hi Folks

just a quick one regarding page rank, my website http://www.alert2media.com was page rank 3 now this has disappeared, i recently launched a new site http://www.snappamedia.co.uk , websites that were produced by alert2media now link to snappamedia but the linked sites had no page rank. Do you lot think this is why page rank has been lost from the mother site

Hi there

Long time no post my website http://www.alert2media.com had page rank 3 last week i was horrified to see this dissapear and no, Adam there was no tipex on the screen blotting out the PR, i have recently built a site http://www.snappamedia.co.uk all the sites i made at alert2media now link to the new site. I think this is why my page rank has reduced i dont want to sound stupid but none of the sites i produced hade any page rank.

Man, if I get that green marker myth to catch on and people start buying it, I'll be a freakin' GOD.

You still have some external PageRank showing at Alert2Media.com...I see 2 there, which would reflect the linking of the sites to the new site. Not that it means much (nor does checking the PageRank of the linking sites), because external PageRank is the blinking 12:00 on a VCR...all but useless.

Why don't you just merge the two sites? They're pretty much the same theme anyway. That will solve any and all of your worries.

The pagerank of the second site (snappamedia.co.uk) does not seem to be raised. It was crawled by the Googlebot on the 23rd July - when did you move all of the links across? It may have simply been one good link to alert2media.com (not your clients sites) may have been removed and that has affected the pagerank.

Create a 301 redirect from the new domain to the old one (or vice versa, depending on which site you like better...if it were me, I'd use the old one.)

The exact nature of how you do so depends on your programming skills and the server platform(s) you're on.

It's important you draw from left to right, otherwise it could turn to negative PR potentially causing enormous debt... be careful.

I don't think so..probably some of your pages lost their page rank and your index got the big hit on it.
