Hi I own the website www.game-download-now.com and im looking for someone who can get me a top 10 ranking on google. Im willing to PAY for ones services. Please dont offer your help unless you have experience in SEO and know what your doing. Please post here with your contact info and what you can offer. It would also help if you post what sites you have gotten into the top 10 before.

NOTE: My site is pretty unique so it wont be too hard to get a top ranking.

It's all about content. Your site doesn't have very good quality CONTENT at the moment. Improve your content, write PROPER reviews YOURSELF and remove the affiliate links to suspect sites and people will begin linking to you because they will see your resources as valuable. That's the way to get good rankings - not through paying someone to use link farming etc. methods or to pay them believing they have a ""special"" relationship with Google.

By the way, you say your site is fairly unique but there are thousands of other review sites out there too. You need to somehow stand out from the crowd

Now hang on there...at least one person did assume you were serious, and was nice enough to point out that what you're looking for isn't something you can buy. This isn't just because Google said so either; you have to consider different datacenters housing different data sets and in some cases different/experimental algorithms and changes, anything your competition does, and various other factors.

The only reason you're getting bids from DP and not from here is because we have the ethics and good sense enough to tell you when you're about to throw away your own money (and I say we because there are others in the form of whym and chrishirst who have given you the answer you should be paying attention to).

whym actually gave you the best advice on the subject: your site is not only not unique, it offers nothing that a potential user could want. The idea of building a site full of affiliate links that create bias did nothing in 1998, and it doesn't work now. Build something unique, unbiased, and useful. Then worry about the SEO after that.

Not only that, this site has the air of the illegal software download sites we all get spammed with at least once a day. At best, this is grey area and no SEO who would be able to help you is going to touch this site with a ten-foot pole (of course, the ethical criminals over at Digital Pointless couldn't care less, and this is just a prime example.)

And getting at top 10 is not a joke. You have to spend cash, spend many long hours of work.. its really really hard! But still its not impossible.

X spots the mark. You know, mark as in victim; slang used by all kinds of shysters. Pick-pockets used to work in teams, one would find a good victim, watch to make sure the guy is distracted, figure out which pocket his wallet is in, and then dust his hands with chalk, bump into the guy, and leave a mark on his back showing his partner where the goods are.

The people on digital point take this very seriously because they're all desperate for $100. 90 % of them learned spam-eo from each other, don't have any actual clients, and spend their day selling links from signatures or fly-by-night directories to each other. Desperation is not a good sign in a skilled professional.

Here's some free advice, because my time is worth a lot more than whatever is in your budget, considering how much of it would be needed to even make a serious try. Your site is like any other video game or movie site. Have a look at Guba.com; then ask yourself whether a mildly interested visitor who's never been to your site or theirs could tell them apart. One is videos in general and one is video games in particular.

There must be another billion or so video game websites on the net. Unlimited competition is pretty hard to unseat, even with unique content.

Have you done any keyword analysis, or are you hoping for your consultant to tell you what keywords you're going to pay them to rank you for?

Adam brought this up already, but no one can guarantee you a spot on the first page. They can try. If you want to rank for competitive phrases, which are the ones that will bring you more than a trickle of traffic, it's going to take several weeks of working full-time to try to rank you for something worth while. That's 40 hours times 3 or 4 weeks, and any consultant worth their salt is going to bill you whether or not you make the front page. First, because they're good at what they do, and have enough clients that if you don't like the offer someone else will, and second because rankings fluctuate.

Final note: I don't have any interest whatsoever in video games. So my thoughts on your site are less useful than from someone. But I worked on the XNA site Microsoft is getting ready to unveil. It's got the usual forums, some blogs, a section where graphic artists, software developers, and others can contribute work to the whole community and build homegrown games. So of course there's a "featured artists" section. They had a bunch of Microsoft people create video lessons on using DirectX for XNA. When the site goes live, it'll shoot to the top of the SERPs pretty quickly. Part of that is because it'll have links from Microsoft and other big companies with carefully chosen anchor text. But it's also because they're building a collection of content you can't get anywhere else before they release the site to the public.

I agree with you all, the site is not unique in any way what so ever and gave me a good laugh too lol, i think i am learning in SEO, unfortunatly when i first started with my own website i was stupid enough to post threads like this also lol, I think the guy has got a bit of a steep learning curve to surf lol.

You may just be learning seo, but the fact that you can see the big picture here means you're further along the road than half the people out there.

I'm still learning a lot, too ... I'm a photographer, not a web guru. It's more of a necessity than a want. But this is the right place to learn from the real gurus ... the ones who don't admit to being experts.
