My host is offering 50$ of yahoo adverts and 30$ of google adwords for free* ... meaning 5$ a piece. I actually have no idea what I will receive for my 10 dollars.. can anyone clue me in?
I had the same deal with my host. Honestly you should give it a try. Read some posts and blogs about the ins and outs, then go for it. PPC is a valuable skill to learn. Those that do it well are very successful with it.
A lot depends on what you're advertising -- how saturated the market is and how high you bid your keywords and such.
I'd give it a try -- start small and get the feel for how it all works (and watch the campaigns closely to keep an eye on your budget). I think you'll like it and there's nothing quite like diving in and trying it -- might as well get some practice with it for free! I know with Google and MSN it's super easy to immediate stop your ads if you're going over what you'd like to spend, so don't be fearful of getting in too deep (just keep that eye on the costs).
