That seems like a very short sighted comment.

If you are starting a forum, you got several ways of advertising it. Paid posting can be part of the investement. Rather than run adwords visitors and press release money into an empty forum, why not pay to get some posts in there, providing your topic suits those that work in the paid posting industry?

On a side not, I have had good luck with paid posters, even beyond the realm of their paid posting. Some of them are actual writers and have provided me with some very nice content outside the forum portion of one of my websites.

Sounds fine... If you can hire someone to write articles for your web, why not to write a few posts in a forum? Can anyone tell me what's the usual fare for these services? I suppose there must be a minimun of words or a maximum of posts per day... It's the first time I've heard of this kind of this "niche", and I say niche because I know no companies doing this in the Spanish market and it might be a good opportunity.

I think its a great idea to do that right when you first start off. In fact I think in my limited experience, the best thing to do to build a forum is...

1. Get friends to join and post a bit
2. Hire paid posters
3. Advertise.

If you advertise too early, people will just see an inactive community and leave. I'd go and use the "trial offer" on a few different sites, see which you like the best. Generally you'll get a really good price for the first order. Let them know that you are using a few other companies' trial offers, and that you are going to do an order with whomever you like the best, and they will work extra hard to earn your business.

When people from your advertising come in, they'll see a lot of varied, and hopefully high quality material in addition to your own. And hopefully that is enough to make them stay.

Hi Bryan - I have been perusing your site forumshock (looks great) Now I have a uk property site that also caters for the rest of the world. I am looking to boost my forum, it has forums for all parts of the world, finance, buying property, selling property, maintainance etc. Would your posters be able to provide posts relating to various countries property markets/financials?

Thinking of going for your Atomic option ....

Anyone used this service??
