Hey,

Don’t you find it annoying when you setup a forum and then a month later you see about 5-7 forums starting up to do the same as you?

I have had this with me, I have started a directory forum for directory owners and users. I know i have checked before I started the forum and found that there was one other forum that did the same as I did and it lacked in some area. So I started the forum.

But over the month I have been checking and have found that there are 5-7 new forum which have started up doing the exact What are you thoughts on the subject?

My thoughts are.. it's the internet. It always happens to me. It probably happens to everyone. The trick is to be faster and better than the competition.. but that can be hard

I know you started this topic because you saw my forum :P . Hoang is right, it's the internet, with all the webmaster and seo forums you see everyday, and seeing that there are so many directories, I decided there should be a forum for the guys who run them. I don't see where the problem is, you've got a nice forum yourself, I wish you best of luck!

Everyone see a problem with something. We I saw your forum, it was like the 6th forum this week that I have seen on the same subject. This is going to be a fun year maybe this part of the internet is going to turn out like the webmaster forums “saturated” with forums

Come on guys, this will be happen always, you can not tell someone "don't launch forum on xxx subject" thats insane.

I believe that the one who do something first, will get all the glory and money

everyone else is after you

It happens, and there is really nothing you can do about it. since you can not really own a niche.

But if someone copied me exactly I probably would have been quite pissed.

Do you only see one webmaster forum on the web? Only one domain name forum on the web? No. You will always have competition Dan. You need to learn from your competitors and improve your website in every way you can.

Ya just recently me and my partner are about to launch www.talktutorials.com - and then members of our other forum www.nerdpoint.com bought "talktuts.com" and tried to sell it to us for $45 or they were going to develop..

I guess that makes it time to work harder and faster on ours to make sure it is up first even though our domain is much older..

When others see somethign that looks successful of course in some cases they are going to want to try out the same idea for themselves. The key is staying ahead of your competition.

Don't even bother with the internet if things like this make you very angry. It is going to happen time and time again.
