Im not asking you here to tell me all your secrets but i want a kind of hint on the road to success with forums,

How do you do it, how do you make money from earners forum type boards (question to everyone)

You have 3 ad type ads, and no offence or anything to earners forum but the ads displayed are a bit crap, but how do you do it?

Do you just leave it there to get clicked or are you optimising it regulary

The wonderful thing about Contextual adverts (adsens, ypn, chitika) is that if you are going to do any optimisation, it only needs to be cosmetic. These adverts are constantly optimising themselves based around the websites content.

Do you win much money from this site and ...how? with the ads or is here a donate button or a vip section?

Well, EF has only been around for about 2 months so I don't think Lee has done much to monetize it. But looking at the advertiser page, the leaderboard and skyscraper are both sold out positions so it's not like he has AdSense or YPN up there where he has to try and optimize them.

I don't think this site was entended to monetize very much but rather recoup and re-invest into more contests/giveaways.

Sometimes money isn't the goal. But rather being the biggest

The sprint user forum must make alot of $$ cause the ads are well targeted and cellphone ads probably pay well.

But still forums have low CTR so it seems hard to beleive that you can make so much with jsut PPC ads with just a few forums. Im sure there is some BH as well. I have done Bh before and made $100's a day with it with little work so ...

The right way to earn.

CTR on a forum doesn't have to be poor either, and there are numerous other ways to monetize a forum outside of CPC networks like Adsense or YPN.

How do you improve CTR when very few members click on the ads? I myself often start to ignore the ads after a while on other forums, no matter how well they blend in. Well the thing about this type of forum is I would assume most webmasters do not pay attention to contextual ads or other of the sorts...

biuld arcade sites and market them wisely. 4 or 5 of them. use different scripts and games. link exchange and advertising. good start right there.

It is all about traffic. I don't care if my members ever click on an ad. I will monetize my members differently. I don't show many or any google ads to my members in some cases. You need traffic, and I have found a forum is an excellent platforum to build solid traffic quickly if it is marketed right.

Building list of posters like us can't be bad. I am only touching on the use of forums, but at least it is a way for all of us to get links out to our own services. Many of the posts here are offers for services or looking for services. Great networking.
