Started it about 3 weeks ago or so and it isn't going as well as planned...
As of right now, i currentlly have:

21 topics
80 posts

Its very slow moving and i really want to get the ball rolling but no matter how much time/effort i put in, i am not getting sign-ups/posts inch:

I am getting good search engine ranks in google (imo) for my terms considering it is a new forum:
money making forums - 15th
money making forum - 15th
online money making - 48th

I have written quite a few guides for the forum also which are on the front page of it, tryed to get traffic to the forum by digging the guides.


Want any advice i can get... layout, content, categories anything please :mellow: ???

To make money with your guides, I would build a content site. I don't really see any reason to join your forum. The design could use some work, the ads on the home page may turn people off, and without much activity or content on the forum, people will not join in on the discussions.

People will join your forum If they feel they want to be apart of your community.

How are you doing It?

I have never had good luck launching online communities. I can create fake accounts, post fake messages to get some "traffic" into the forum - but no luck. Even sites like I have right now, such as SocialTwist, there is a community of users (average of 2k+ users a day viewing the site) but no forum posts.

The market is pretty much owned by this forum for the type of site you are trying to run. You will need to really compete to be successfull and to start you will need a much better design.

i also disagree that the market is closed for the type of forum i'm launching because its the internet, and its HUGE!

If you're dedicated you can do whatever you want bro. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't. Maybe you should consider a wordpress blog though?

yea a blog is in my plans to run along with that website


Just finished my style for the forum... money green, looks allot better than it was before - dull dark red

one of the best things is to have unique content, for example you dont want to make a direct copy of EarnersForum with all the same categories exept with a different color/colour scheme because people just wont do it, you get what im saying?

You have to stress on quality content. Try having contents on recent and hot topics. Try to keep your forum active by employing professionals who have experience in community building.

You are right. I never really said it was closed just that it is currently "owned". But if you make your great site it can still compete with the others. It is like just because there are already searchengines, youtube ,myspace doesn't mean you can't compete with these sites. I think myspace will lose soon if they don't fight the spam and the horrible severs.
