Hi, I am new here and basically need some advice.
I started getting more involve in websites over a year ago. It seem like I am so late in the game most of what I want to do has already been done. So here is the question, I will pick something I am very passionate about and that is cars in general. If I do another honda car forum for example...does that make since? I mean the other guys honda-tech superhonda etc have been there for over 10 years...and are well established.

From the example above would you create yet another of something that has already been established??? :2guns:

Can you do it better than they can? And is it worth your time and money do to what it would take to be better than them? Better to the point where people go to your forum instead of theirs?

These are good questions...some of the questions you mentions I have taken in consideration. I just spoke to my cousin a few weeks ago about this and he said..."isn't the internet about whats new?"...that just kinda discouraged me ...I was thinking how I can maybe make it better I do see some flaws that I maybe able to improve on, but the wealth of information amassed over the years and how well known some of these forums are makes it very intimidating.

I suppose I can give it a shot. I will set a budget and see how it goes If I dont make it well I will come out with some experience I can take on to other project. Thanks for the reply!!!

Only way you're gonna find out is if you try, no point asking us, some have done it, taken on established forums / sites and won, others have lost. Either way you gain the much needed experience and can then comfortably say you are ready to take on another project without asking advice in a forum

you could always spy on the existing forums to see how well they're actually doing

Try it, by I agree with handsome rob, spy on the existing forum and watch closely to what they're doing.

If you can compete, then yes it will be fine to do. Sites come and go all the time.

I think that some of these car forums get so large that you can create a niche and draw members into it. So don't think about just another honda forum, think either a model or maybe a subsidiary forum.

By the way, for those of you out there running car forums...

Fast-approval auto loans are the next mortgages in affiliate marketing. If you're just wallpapering your site with adsense, you're missing out.
