Maybe it's time for us to come up with an article of some sort - introducing forum owners how to make money from their community. Well, I'll list a few advertising companies that forum owners use to generate revenue.

Adsense:
This is by far one of the most popular advertising companies online today - its eCPM usually sucks for forums, but if you're generating enough traffic on a daily basis, then you should be fine. Forums are known to have low CTR (click through rates).

Kontera & Vibrant Media:
Both companies are similar - but Kontera accepts small sites and big sites - where Vibrant media wants the bigger sites, and publishers report higher earnings with VM because its a lot older than Kontera. Both companies highlight certain keywords in text.

CPM Companies: Valueclick, Casalemedia, etc:
CPM (cost per impression) are companies that love sites & forums that generate a ton of pageviews on a daily basis. Valueclick doesn't accept forum sites anymore, but I'm sure the others might.

No, kontera works wonders on forums.

Going away from the advertising point of view, paid memberships depending on your sites content can be a real hit. For the last 4-5 months, membership subscriptions alone have increased my monthly takings by 400%. The key to that being, of course, to offer the user enough extra features and priviledges to make the jump from a free to a paid member.
