I'm thinking about starting a website using phpbb for forums, i need a forum that is able to let users post up some pictures, do you guys think phpbb is for me? oh and i'm also a newb...i have very little skills

i like vBulletin... how about it?

I happen to use phpBB. It's not perfect, but it does the job. vBulletin seems to be the more professional choice, but of course it will cost you.

phpbb is probably right for you if u want free forum software, but in my opinion its no where near as good as vbulletin, its quite a difficult decision as its very difficult to move from one platform to another once u have made a decision, if i was you i would save my money and get vbulletin, just my opinion.

i like and use fluxbb which is free

ill check it out...right now, anyways people i have another question...can i put ads like adsense on phpbb?

Ya you can, and its really easy. After you start your forum (usually you can just get web hosting and your host will install it for u...i use bluehost and it was so easy to get my forum up) just go to overall_header.html in templates, and paste the adsense script there.

make sure your using the latest phpbb software, the older versions are very hackable
