Have you ever shared your photo album with family and friends? If so, how many pictures... and how many times have you shared it? Did it include an Eye-Catching Image that forced your family members to ask questions about it?

I once had a section for photos (same reason, family/friends) and I did get a lot of (untargetted) search traffic.
However, I don't want search traffic on personal photos. Besides the bandwidth cost, there is the creepiness factor of strangers looking at my album.

Now, I just keep the photos on a set of orphaned pages so I can mail out urls.

gotta agree with that especially in blogs..images can make blogs more interesting..

I did for awhile use Gallery 2 on my website, and it seemed like it increased traffic a little, however I got rid of it because it was hard to make it match my site, that was when I didn't know much about CSS and PHP. I may re-implement it.

Its really true! Image is MORE catchy than a plain text. Make sure to put alt tag on it. Add title tags too.

Eventhough what you said is true regd increasing traffic through images, i still feel it doesn't make sense in adding personal photo's as strangers may neither enjoy nor view it most of the time.
