Have you ever wanted to get back at spammers and scammers? Well I am starting an online mafia to get back at the scum of the internet and put the power back in the users hands. Once a day you will get an email from me and i will tell you what site we are going to get back at for that day. We will flood email boxes with negative feed back and try to crash their server with the digg effect.

Sounds uh...pretty illegal. Revolutionary, perhaps - but definitely illegal.

I am starting a website though, that works to legally take down scammers, spammers, and everything of the sort. Want to help?

By purposely developing a group to flood an E-Mail box, you're doing exactly what they are. It's spam, and it's not only illegal but of very poor taste.

Flood email boxes with negative feed back and asking them to stop spamming. IF a web site gets a enough negative feedback they will stop hopefully stop spamming and scaming,

That makes the (fatal) assumption that spammers actually read feedback people send them!

Also the "digg effect" would achieve the opposite effect... you'd be giving them traffic causing them to make more money.

Bad idea. Nice intention but bad idea. There isn't any real way to stop spammers and scammers, they are like forces of nature, the only thing you can do is educate yourself to avoid them.

Actually if carried out correctly his idea or parts of it are good. By him saying "mafia" as a way to describe it, I doubt this would be a flood of emails saying please stop spamming.

There was a thing like this for email spam. It would ddos the sites being promoted by the spam emails making the site owners check where their traffic comes from. =D
This obviously got banned but then became some sort of P2P program. Still not legit, but like BT and other P2P systems since there is not central server, they would have to shut down each individual user of the program.

Far be it from me to point out the blindingly obvious, but most of the spam is sent from spoofed email addresses or temporary emails that exist for the duration of sending a few hundred thousand messages or so.

So all you would do is either get yourself a mailstorm of NDRs or you would get your own email address blocked when somebody reported YOU as a spammer!

AND of course

IF the "please don't spam me" message does end up at a spammers mail box you have just given them a whole new bunch of REAL emails to create a new list which is FAR more valuable when they sell the list on!!
