Hi guys

I have been trying to set up 2checkout on my website http://www.wocchat.com, this has proved a complete nightmare !

My site is a social networking site, as there is a section where people add their fave videos from you tube, using the enbed code.

I had finally set up my 2checkout, only then to be emailed to be told my account is suspended as i have copywrited content on my website.

I am a little confused by this, as well first of all the content isnt hosted on my site, also youtube dont have copywrited content on their site as far as i know.

2checkout recently just taken social networking sites on, i dont think there is a social networking site on the planet that doesnt use you tube as a source is there ?

Anyone know whos in the right here ? am i in the wrong ?

I haven't looked at your site, but if it's what it sounds like, your selling youtube video's...That's a no no because you if you are not the original owner of (most, if not all of those youtube videos) it's illegal to sell them...But I don't know if that is what your after, but if it is, it's illegal.

Well, it is interesting you should say that because most of the videos on YouTube are also taken from other places. How do I know? I run a video site and and most of my legally acquired content are illegally posted on YouTube. What if someone then copies my stuff from YouTube and puts on his site? This unfortunately is how the online video world is and as the OP has pointed out he is not selling them. Once you put a video up, unless you have high priced lawyers to scream "copyright violation" you just have to accept the fact that they are fair game for anyone. Even YouTube accepts that fact.

Thats what i have found out jn, i assumed it if was on youtube it was legal but this isnt the case what so ever, you could still be breaking a copywrite even if you not actually hosting the content, if youtube dont know how to cope with this, how are the run of the mill website owners like me supposed to know ?

well in my own point of view..you can use youtube's embedded codes in your site but you dont have to claim that video is yours..
