I'll say first, I'm not advertising or saying Proboards is the the best thing since sliced bread.
But Proboards can't even be compared to phpBB or IPB. Proboards is remotely hosted software. You register on their site and get http://mysite.proboardsXX.com and you're on your way.
I'm a phpBB or vB person. But way back when I didn't know the difference between flatfile or mysql, and just wanted my own little forum to play king administrator, Proboards was perfect.
