As others have said, digg and several others in that list on NOFOLLOW. Social media sites are not very good sources of back links... however, they are useful for driving traffic to sites.
Most social media sites (like blogs) are NOFOLLOW because they don't want to get penalized by Google because people are taking advantage of them to manipulate their SERPs.
About the only way most social media sites help you from a back link perspective is:
1) if someone sees a site you've bookmarked or linked to, follow the link to see what it's about, like the site you've linked to and decide to link to that site from their own web site or blog OR
2) they have some type of widget on their site displays, for instance, the last X treets by people whom you follow... and that widget uses FOLLOW for the links (even though on twitter the link is NOFOLLOW).
