Hi,

Can you please help me learn how to move one of my forums to a new domain name? I have found a keyword rich domain name which would benefit the existing forum greatly. I have heard about setting up redirects to forward to old domain name to the new one, but how can I do this without losing all my search engine traffic?(I know I might lose it temporarily, but what ways can I go about this to ensure getting relisted on the new domain is likely).

Cant you just point the A records for the new domain to the IP that has your current forum?

Or maybe setup new hosting, Take a backup of the forum and import the data into teh new forum on the new hosting?

Yes I can do this, but I want to ensure when I setup a redirect on the old domain I do so in a way to ensure the search engines find it easiest to reindex the content on the new domain.
