Facebook helps to gain traffic to our site, Could anyone explain how these are done. I have created a fans page in FB and I have made some of my friends like my page. What else should I do to attract more people to my page and my site..

I think that Facebook can not be used for traffic gaining, if you're going to use some legal methods and if you want your site to be trustful.
So, I think that it;s useful to use FB in case if you need some extra love of your site's visitors.

After you got certain number of followers or likes, you can add content with links time and time, so it bring your traffic. More than that, if people share your contents, there might be backlinks.
Ways to get more likes:
1. Find a topic related to your website and people interested,
2. Add fresh and interesting contents ASAP, AMAP,
3. Check hot topic, join into talking and share your opinion,
4. Join communities related to your career, orders might be there.

Facebook is a great source of getting traffic. Create Groups and fan pages there and suggest them to your friends. You should remain very active on those pages and include interesting and informative content in them , so that it gets attraction. Soon your page will be so popular and no. of people start joining it.

Facebook helps by keeping a lot of mindless drones out of decent sites on the internet, and has successfully stopped my inbox being filled with pointless email forwards from friends loaded with completely incorrect information, or cats that look like Hitler.

Add a facebook like button on your homepage and some product page , and then publish some funny pics on your facebook fan page . give some useful or funny things to your visitors to come here .

I am now spending my time more on my facebook page rather than my main account. Seems like I am getting daily wages for what I do. When I post more content and reply to hot topics on other pages, I get traffic and likes.

All of a sudden if I stop doing it for a day or two, I get no updates or likes. Is this the same condition for you guys? Am I lacking something to attract visitors to my page?

First of all keep on adding all the suggestions that facebook make, then keep on adding friends of your friends and keep sharing links of your site with interesting topics.

Face book do helps for marketing your website. I have tried it and got success.
Increase your fans (likes) of that Fan page. I am also getting traffic form it.
