I do not have a facebook account but my friends are pushing me to open an account..what's up with that???

I would rather see my friends in person, do you have a facebook account?
Would you like one? Why? or why not?

Facebook is pretty popular, you just have to do what feels best for you.

I had a Facebook account, but was greatly disappointed and it wasn't what I was expecting. But for other people Facebook works.

I have one because my eldest sone is married and lives 300 miles away.
And my youngest lives with his mum the same distance away in a slightly different direction.

What puzzles me is two teenagers sitting in the same room, watching the same TV programme and "talking" about what they are watching via mobile phones and facebook???????

As they would say "Duurr"???

Facebook connects more people and it lets you communicate and be updated with them even with the distance..you can see their pics, vids, etc..admit it or not its what most people like about it..

I have one for personal reasons..its up to you whether you like to make one

thanks for the inputs everyone especially to the moderators.

I guess it's okay to keep in touch with people especially when you don't get to see them a lot. But there are many who are just OBSESSED with FB. Hopefully not but seems all they do is check FB on phones, computers and comment plus making it a big deal even competition as to the number of friends they have/can get.

Also, I don't want to see slutty photos of my friends

I love how facebook manage to connect families miles apart.
Got my high school friends through facebook.
I haven't seen them for years.
One more thing I love about it is the games..

For me the one and main reason to use it is

I can talk and see my loved ones who are very much far from me and most precious to me and not met since longtime.

I agree with you guys, it really is nice to connect with loved ones and friends.

Anyone adding people who are not really their friends/family?? I'm interested to know why.

I guess it's the heavy media attention that Facebook is getting.

Facebook is really a good place to connect with your friends and make new good friends.

hmm games yeah I acknowledge that. I used to be so addicted to Farmville. Good thing I did not get to the point wherein I had to buy farmville money... sorry I forgot how it's called.
There's also another game I got myself hooked into..I can't remember

The last time I logged in to my facebook account was over a year ago..

I find social networks to be useful for connection. It is possible to make friends with people who are located at the other side of a Planet. The connection is really important I suppose.

Its a good platform to connect with your friends/relatives who are far away or whom you don't meet quite often. This gap is nicely bridged by facebook which unfortunately no other social networking site could do it so well.

That's true, I know some locals here virtually dating via Facebook. Started on clicking 'Like' in one of the pictures posted.

People are so obsessed with Facebook for 2 reasons:

1) They get to stalk their friends.
2) They get to be stalked by their friends.

As far as I see it, anyhow.

No one emails anymore, what's up with that?
