Every single time a site is bookmarked a one way link is created. If you are able to social bookmark all your content over time you will generate a lot of links pointing back to your site. The key thought is to do this with dofollow social bookmarking sites.

Here is a list of some dofollow social bookmarking sites that you can use to create links and boost your search engine rankings. I have also written the sites Page Rank next to the site:

By the way, thanks for the list of Do follow but as far as I know, no follow social bookmaking sites also ranks in SERP. This is only based on my experience.

The DoFollow attribute is valid and is not some Internet Myth. The Search Engines do follow links from websites and weblogs. If you do not want your links followed you can stop them. If you want them to be followed by the Search Engine spiders then you can allow it. Do some reading before you make this stuff up. Google has some very good articles written about this on their website and in their forum.

isnt every link dofollow by default? You have to actually code it as nofollow if you dont want the spiders to follow it...

Nope there are many ways a link can be stopped from passing "value".

A "robots" meta element for instance.

Links may be disabled for search engine (as signature here are).

The page/site may be barred by SEs for passing value, not penalised just blocked and ignored.

The absence of the "nofollow" value for the rel attribute by no means indicates that the link has any SE value at all and will be "followed"

Yes, and search engines will be really impressed with hundreds of links from Facebook to your blog.

Have we a sarcasm smilie on these forums? And is there any way of making people realise that sig links are useless - that'd cut down on god knows how many crappy answers. All of which use the noread attribute. As opposed to doread which exists in my head.

High ranked Social bookmarking sites like Digg and StumbleUpon use no-follow links,even top social media sites have no-follow in their links .Yet they are popular as they have indirect link building value and traffic-driving value.

Do follow do exist. Although some Search Engines like Yahoo have different criteria and do check no-follow links.
Even Google can sometimes penalize site that never appears to no-follow sites.
