I've been browsing here online and read about Facebook that become famous and "known" for attracting huge traffic and etc. And I am thinking is there any possibility that Face book will replace Google and become the first search engine globally in the future?

Well, so far Facebook hasn't exactly replaced the world wide web. Google searches a good portion of the web, Facebook basically searches within itself and large as that is, it is way smaller than the web. Also search is not exactly Facebook's core focus but for Google it is. So Facebook replacing Google in search is highly unlikely. Someone else (a young upstart) is more likely to do that.

I am not really sure for this if it's possible but one thing I know for sure the two are different and have its own way of serving different purposes to people who access it.

According to search engine history

JumpStation, the World Wide Web Worm, and the Repository-Based Software Engineering (RBSE) spider were the full fledged bot fed search engine pioneers.

can you clarify this? Did you mean Facebook replacing Google as general web search engine?

If so, I have my doubts. Plausible though that Facebook may give birth to some vertical search content

If Facebook had meta search it would take a huge chunk of Google's market share just because of Facebook's huge user base. If there was a facebook search toolbar for IE, Chrome, Firefox, whathaveyou it would be huge within a week.

Realistically speaking right now Facebook is good for finding jobs and catching up with friends I haven't seen since high school. As far as meta search goes it would be awesome to see a social media driven search engine. One with some real quality control. If that happens dump your Google shares quick.
