Submit to My Directory

You can check out your directories strength using the new DR Strength rating system at Directory Rate.

If you have already submitted your directory, you'll be able to check out your directory's strength right away, if you haven't submitted your directory yet, just visit the site and add it (its free).

Once your directory is approved and listed you'll be able to see its DR Strength next to your listing.

Go to www.directoryrate.com to take a look.

How exactly do you work out DR? E.g. the exact number rating like 8.9 etc.?

Probably an SEO score, maybe mixed in with a title and description relevancy score.

Hi Guys,

Lots of factors and metrics make up the score, sadly I cant disclose them publicly, but a quality well maintained directory with plenty of back links and useful content will get a good DR score.

Still looking for more directories to add to our lists, add yours for free at <link removed>

If you can't share anything about how you're ranking the strength of directories it makes it hard to trust your numbers. In fact it makes them worthless.

Just a hunch without even looking. Does your directory rank very well?

What really makes this idea worthless is a site that doesn't load. waynerwayner, you've got hosting issues. Besta get yo' server fix on.

So a directory that went through all of the link exchange BS and got 500 inbound links as a result would outrank a directory that didn't and got 3 organic IBLs?

If that's what you're selling, it ain't gonna be bought up in dis piece.

Ok, I tried to access your site 4 times & got the same message:

in case you need to double check it with your hosting company, This error accrued at: 8:50pm CST (2050cst) On 09/12/2007 (Wen.)....

I was hopping to find out more about this DR (Play off PR) type rating system you have going on. O'well, let me know when its back up & running.

They ask you to put reciprocal link (they call it “Rate Us” link) and to ask
your site visitors to Rate (to Vote) for your Directory using that reciprocal
link (sneaky busters).
Based on amount of Votes you received, they will Rate your site.

For me this is one perfect way for your competition to kill your site reputation.

To bad I learned about their scam after I submitted our Directory.

The good news is you learned. Just remove any link pointing to their directory and you'll have nothing to worry about.

Hi,

Been a while since i visited this thread, looks like I missed out on some serious butt kicking of my site... so thanks

Firstly, whether you care or not, the factors that make up the DR score is something that will not be made public, but it's not, as one poster claimed, based on user ratings of a directory, it is based on metrics and factors publicly available to anybody, and a score is derived from them to give the DR.

Regarding my 'expert' knowledge, what this poster is pointing out is nothing to do with having any knowledge of directories, it is having a little ability in the English language, as the term 'Free' means (among other things) there is no cash payment required, so the category 'Free - With Reciprocal' means you don't have to pay anything (its free) but you have to give a reciprocal... very simple, but obviously a little tricky for some posters to understand.

I'm not forcing anyone to take DR as a serious metric, its just there as a guide people may (and many do) find useful, irrespective of whether you give any weight or not to DR, the site at a minimum gives useful directory lists for those looking for such things, which cant be a bad thing.

I not sure why the site has come in for such a pasting on this thread as its been well received elsewhere, I guess there will always be the cynical few who are out to put everything down.
