Submit to My Directory

Hello

I've submitted my house share website to loads of directory sites over the years, usually requiring a free reciprocal link before they will accept your listing and I have come to the conclusion that I am wasting my time.

I feel that most of the time, the reciprocal link has to be in place during the submission process - hence benefitting the directory site immediately and then my link takes months to appear, if at all. Certainly if I type the link:www.abodewithme.com command into Google it does not seem to find the links and often when I search for my site on the so called directory site that I've linked to it's not there and invariably I delete the outgoing link through frustration.

Does anybody know of any good quality directory sites that accept non-reciprocal links free of charge and the link appears quickly or am I just hoping for something that is never going to happen?

Lol, directory sites are like so 90's. From what I've heard, they're pretty rubbish now.

First of all, I think maybe directories don't give that much traffic but it helps to gain Page Rank.
You can find tons of directories here at "Submit your directory" section where you don't have to put a reciprocal links. There are many place that you can find good and free directories, Directorycritic, inf.vilesilencer, vmoptions etc etc.

But I would suggest to concentrate on other ways to get backlinks like blog comments, social networking sites, forums etc etc.
