Looks like you have activated lots of widgets. Nice. One bit of advice I have been giving lately is to be careful how many internal links you put on the homepage. I think things like twitter are fine because they are javascript, but you might want to consider removing things like Top Categories and slimming down the number of subcategories you show. I recently visited this topic. It can be interesting to actually count the number of internal links on the page. Good luck with your directory!
