This is going to sound weird, but if you follow the steps you might be able to duplicate it.

1) I reported a spam post using the reporting link.

2) I responded to someone who helped me (a short response, but enough to publicly say thank you).

3) I got told that I had to wait another 8 seconds because the forum requires 30 seconds between posts.

It looks like Step 1 got confused with a post.

It's because the spam report sends an email and your response will have been sending an email as well. And there is a "flood" delay of 30 secs between emails.

Normally you wouldn't notice because it takes more than 30s to navigate to and write a response.

Something else odd just happened, the TP Adam gave me for it disappeared from my userCP. Now I didn't lose the points I gained, mind you, just the fact that I received them from "ADAM Web Design" is no longer in the "Latest TP Received" section.

EDIT: OK maybe I was just being stupid here, as the thread was deleted for being spam, that might be why it's no longer there.
