So yeah. This isn't going to be some promotional material. It's what I think, and feel free to disagree.
I haven't been active in many forums, and I came across webmaster-talk a few weeks ago while being bored and remembering that sometime in the past there had been website-reviewing forums and I had gotten a lot out of the criticism and the ideas people had written.
I signed up, wrote a few posts, and was hooked. I bought my first complete website via webmaster-talk.com, submitted several websites for review (both are doing very well thanks to everyone). In the process I was directed towards a competitor's forums (I won't name names) for further info about my website transaction and I signed up there as well, just to see how it might compare.
Webmaster-talk surpasses in several aspects, I think. Again, feel free to disagree.
Personally, I don't like limits. I don't like being given an annoying page with
"Woops you don't have enough priviledges to do that."
"Woops, looks like you need a few more posts to write anything, so feel free to browse elsewhere"
"Woops, you haven't been a member for long enough."
Sure, forums need their regulations, but aren't we adults enough to realise that we can *follow rules*? Webmaster-talk has that subtle approach with members (particularly in the reviews) making sure that the rules are enforced, and while you can post in violation, you're probably going to feel more embarrased if you do and someone tells you it's not according to forum rules, rather than come across a page explicitly preventing you from posting. Even in a particular subforum there's always an educated approach, rare is it to read something that u feel as tho u will cringe bc ppl dont care enough to write properly.
Sure, there are things that can be improved. I agree. But for what it is, I like how it's going. Besides, the people here are nicer

and the criticism I get I can actually use. Thanks, w-t.
