Why would the mods forbid me to make anymore suggestions? It doesn't make sense.
In addition to the other forum hierarchy I mentioned, how do these ideas sound? A few had been previously mentioned already, so I'm just listing all the ones that could still be useful . Also, I'm placing these forums where I say *assuming* the current hierarchy is the way things will stay (different from my proposed hierarchy):
CMS Forum - We could probably have it either in "Coding Talk" or "Website and SE Talk"
Discussion Board Forum - I'd have it under "Website and SE Talk"
Misc. Web Talk - Sub-forum of General, I'd still like to see it there, and think it would be useful in organizing General better
Technology News - Move it to Community Talk
Politics and Religion Forum - Rename it. P&R doesn't really sound like it "belongs" on a webmaster forum. Also, there's plenty of other things that I think could "fit" there, for example: Philospohy, Ethics, Media, History, Society, Current Events, etc.
And ones that haven't been talked about yet:
Multimedia Forum - maybe have it under "Web Design and Graphics Talk", things like videos, flash animation, mp3's, etc. could be talked about there
Web Security Forum - have it under "Web Administration Talk", maybe even combine it with the "Server Administration Talk", potential discussions I could see for it include firewalls, viruses, malware, encryption, passwords, internet privacy, etc.
Services Forum - Many people seem to like offering their writing, programming skills, etc. so why not have a forum dedicated to letting people promote themselves in the marketplace (although this is another one of those ideas where you'd have to be careful with moderating it).

James, it's a conspiracy! I didn't know we had. But if we had, then you just broke that and I need to give you an infraction. Just kidding about that part. If you want to talk more about that, send me a PM about what you're talking about, or you can put a link in the confidential forum where only you and the Forum Leaders can see it.

Those all seem interesting to me.
I think we may be able to better organize the general forum, too. I'm not sure exactly what that better organization would be, but that's good for the thinking process.
I definitely agree that the P&R be titled differently and include other topics. Maybe it could be the "controversial" forum (sub-titled "differences of opinion welcome").
I like the idea of web security, but I don't think it should expand into computer security since we have The New Tech up and running.
And I don't see that the services forum would be anything different than the ads forum other than it might be more specific. IMO, adding different categories for that would be a moderating and logistics nightmare.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Controversial sounds good Some other ideas you can consider are: Debate Forum, Global Affairs, or even as Tim likes to say "The Pit" (whatever you choose, don't let it be Conspiracy Forums, I don't want you stealing my thunder )

Good point about the new tech, as this forum idea would be strictly related to "web" security.

Actually, for this, I was just thinking about having one subforum (either in Other Ads or Freelance Help), hopefully nothing "too nightmarish" .

It has to be said that Digital Point has a huge number of forums, many like the ones suggested. However, I don't think expanding the forums would lead to Digital Pointless - we've got plenty of good, reputable members here and spam/scamming posts are quickly removed by our fantastic moderator/admin team
Most of the suggestions seem fine to me - the more topics we cover, the more members we'll attract from all walks of webmastering and online business etc.

Actually, I don't see MOST of these forums suggestions over at DP. The only ones that may be similar are P&R (which we already had) and CMS, that's about it.
The only way it will be similar is if DP starts copying us, which I could definitely see.

As long as those topics don't include spammy / scammy forums (whereas the proposed services forum would have to be heavily moderated. But then again spammy topics are more likely to escape mod notice if they're in the marketplace.)
