I talked to vangogh via PM a little while ago and I though of some ideas for the WT marketplace. How does this hierarchy look:

I think the extra category will help keep all the advertising services and help wanted threads sorted out. If you'll notice I also moved the "Blog Themes" and the "Submit to My Directory" forums, as they probably fit better in the Marketplace. Plus the "Other Ads, Offers, Services" forum was getting kind of messy.

Then again this new "For Sale" category with promotional forums would only be if the WT Staff wanted to allow members to advertise themselves.

What does everyone think?

Thanks for the suggestions James. We are going to be making some changes in about a week (can't tell you exactly what yet). Please let us know what you think about them and how things might be improved.

How can I tell you what I think if I don't know what the changes are?

You might also want to add a "Scripts for Sale" section.

That's what he's saying. Once changes are made, please give it a workout and then give us feedback!

See, it's really a conspiracy to make one think that there are changes and then see if someone reports something that hasn't really changed. Like the placebo affect.

Either that, or there's a conspiracy where something really *was* really changed, but the staff doesn't want to admit it because they enjoy messing with us

The new marketplace looks a lot like Sitepoint's MP. Just a few quick questions here:

What will happen to all the old marketplace threads? Will they just be closed and taken off?

And will there be subforums for forums like "looking for hire" and "promote your services"? It seems like those could get disorganized pretty quickly if there aren't.

Also on a brief note here, the main marketplace adsense block looks to be a little too big for my screen, I get a horizontal scrollbar.
