Got here via Andy Beard post on Contest, but could find no information on any contest.

Also, either I am blind or there is no search function for forum. If second is true, suggestion is to add a search box to find topics so we can check if something had been answered before we post. Wanted to post in "Suggestion" but require min. 3 post, so here is 1, 2 to go.

I am an avid blogger, and because of that, have become a default webmaster. Problem is, Google Blogger blogs can never pass W3C validation even if there is zero post, zero customization. How important is W3C validation?

How do I enter contest and what referrer "name" should I give my blogs visitors?

Thanks ????

Sorry about that ???? but when I reply, I can no longer see who I am replying to. Any possibility that this can be a suggestion and I get extra points for contests for submitting suggestion (somehow let us see username of whoever we are replying to. Very rude to address someone as ????)

Also, found that my referral link is?
http://www.webmaster-talk.com/index.php?referrerid=0

That looks like a general referral link to me as don't tell me my referral ID us
referrerid=0

Also, I see we get significant points by publishing posts with link to this forum via referral links. I suppose this is our own blogs.

I also read about articles. How do I post articles? It appear to me that articles are part of webmaster-talk and not our blogs.

Plus is there a way to add signatures to posts in threads without us having to type or copy-paste everytime we post? Sorry, this is only my no. 2 post. 1 more to go before I can post in suggestion.

Dear Webmaster Talk administrator/s,

My username is enviroman and I definitely want to enter the contest as there are stuff in the contest I find very useful and now hoping for a miracle. However, I am not sure of my referral ID and hoping to get confirmation that this one is it:
http://www.webmaster-talk.com/index....ferrerid=66338

Once I get confirmation, I will immediately start preparing my first post as this forum is the most interesting forum I have come across and I have no hesitation recommending it to my readers with sincerity.

Reason I need to ask is because when I first click on "referral link", what I got looks very suspiciously like a general referral link. I have posted that link in another thread which involve a few issues and I got a response for only 1 issue, nothing on the referral link.

I'm going to assume that's the correct referral ID because if I hover over your name on the forum, it says /members/enviroman-66338.

However, I think you posted this in the wrong forum. It probably belongs here.

Thanks chrishirst,

for moving my posts. Now it is in suggestions and feedback and I now know where to get info for contest plus I also know this type of posts belong here. However, a number of questions still remained unanswered and I wonder if they should just be considered as feedback with no need for response from anyone or if there is another "forum" or section where I should post the questions as I am still interested in getting answers.

One more thing. I use many browsers and do multi-tasking and currently typing this in Flock browser. The above line did not word wrap as I typed and I hope it will when published, otherwise someone will get sore at me posting something that need use of horizontal scroll bar to read.

Also, I noticed my signature lines had been edited out. However, I do remember reading the rules and it said it is OK to have links in signature line subject to conditions (The maximum number of lines is 3 with a maximum text size of 2. The line count includes empty lines for spacing).

Anyway, I am going to include a signature line again with links as I am now like a child in a new playpan testing the boundary to see how far I can go.

Hi Mr. Chris,

Pray, may this Webmaster Talk newbie ask, where can I find a definition of a signature? What is the difference between a signature at the bottom of a post and a "simply dropped in at the bottom of every post"?

Does that thing "dropped in at the bottom of this post qualify"?

Peter < No it doesn't >

Thanks Chrishirst,

I checked the link and saw my own signature, not a definition of signature for this forum. That signature of mine has only 2 lines when the rules says max 3. I was hoping to see a definition of a signature for this forum as I feel unfairly fined for infraction and got 10 point deducted. If I had seen a clear explanation of what a signature is for this forum, I would have followed that, but as it is, I only find out after some kind souls pointed it out plus I need to add 2+2 to figure I have to go to control panel. Still hoping admin not overly sensitive.

Hope administrator quite forgiving for newbies, but posted a question regarding same subject in website reviews and SUGGESTIONS. That word suggestion threw me off and I don't know if my thread there will get moved over to here. Perhaps others are faster than me in learning the ropes, but for me, it would be good I think if rules are edited to make clearer what admin wants regarding signatures. This will be for those I hope to refer to this forum when I am done posting replies and threads here.
