Whenever I'm here I get Javascript errors. I also get them on a few other forum sites where I post and I'm wondering if these errors are the cause of the problems I have posting.

I'm using IE8 and I've checked my internet options and Java is enabled. All my script settings are as they should be according to the support sites I've already asked for help at (i.e. MS support and others)

here - my issue is not being able to use the text color when I use the advanced reply mode. I can use it in the quick reply only. There might be other problems I'm not aware of yet...

I'm not savvy enough to know where or how to write the correct syntax codes so I've been looking for quick fix applications. I've downloaded a few from Java but nothing has changed

On another site my words run together with no breaks yet they appear to look normal when I'm typing. It's only after I save and submit the posts that it shows the words all running togetherlikethis....Others don't seem to have that problem except for once in awhile I notice it on other posts. I've asked around but only one person said it was the site.

Are these errors causing the minor annoying issues I've described or is it possible they are happening anyway?

You're not on your own there

It is permissions related problem and needs intervention by the server techies to fix it.

Ok thanks Chris - just to clarify it's not caused by the Javascript errors I'm getting when I come here? And when you say, the server techies have to fix it, does that mean YOUR server techies? (cause I don't think I have any...ha ha) And am I'm getting these error's because of the permissions problem with the server?

Servers are another one of my "grey" areas. I only have a partial understanding of what a server is. I think of it as a "middle man" that directs traffic (or gives us the redlight/greenlight) to that big information highway in the sky?

It means that the people handling the server where this site is hosted have to do something.
Nothing on your side nor that you have to care.

Nope.
For a car analogy, your browser is a car, a web site is a shop, and the server is the building in which the shop is located.

The server hosts a web site, process requests (forms, emails, accessing a page) and gives you (the client) back an html formatted page that your browser lays on your screen.

Theirry THANKS for explaining Servers. You made it easy to understand by using the car analogy. I did not know that.... guess I was confused - (which seems to be my constant state lately)

I kept thinking the problem was on my end - there are 3 other sites I've been getting these javascript errors at lately. I've been googling questions about it for a few months now - thinking (oh boy look out...) I could educate myself enough to attempt the "fixes" that I see on some sites. I've read everything I could find - even tried to do some tutorials on SunMicro Systems, but reading syntax is like reading Greek! I'm too right-brained to deal.... I just wind up getting angry and give up.

It's really frustrating, because my posts are not making sense on some of these sites. On one of them I can't even post at all because of this problem - all I can do is read....and no one else has said anything about it on the site. I wonder if they have the same server as webmaster.

so is there any hope these people are going to fix it soon? I know it's been going on here since at least January.
