Quite often, as in several times perday the same question is asked, and quite often, as in several times perday the wrong answers are given, so here is my suggestion.

The owners of the site pay Chris to set up some pages on here with answers to basic questions, then everyday whaen they are asked the link can be posted and the thread just locked, I have to admit Chris does a great job of quelling missinformation, but **** it must get tedious for him, if I was him I would just ban the idiots asking the questions and also ban the ones giving wrong information, luckily Chris is very tolerant

So lets sort out some subjects Chris can do pages on for the basics of becoming a seo expert beasty guru master.

Bounce rate; needs one sentence to explain it, there is no maybe this or maybe that, it is they come and leave from the same page, that is it.

the difference between hits and pages served, stuff like what are unique vistors, what does serps mean, page rank crap, all these are real easy to answer but are asked day after day after day

So, some suggestions for Chris's pages....

If you don't do it I will on my site, probably 3 or 4 deep from search engines but they will still love me, somebody has to do pages on the real basic stuff.....

Some of them are genuinely trying to help, by repeating what they have heard elsewhere. It isn't their fault that they heard errors elsewhere.

That's the biggest problem, there are so many forums (and UTOA bloggers) that are run by and populated with the clueless and/or (at best) mis-informed. Who perpetuate the long standing myths or mis-report what they have half read and half-understood the half they did read.

We need more blogs like SEOBS
(testing my very own "short URL thingy" there as well) Just the one working URI at the minute.

You could probably write a few, "Think you know SEO? Think again!" posts, sticky them and close them as a reference. Won't stop the completely clueless, but might get the semi-clueless to think twice before posting rubbish.
