I think WT needs a strictly promo section where people can give tips on how they got good traffic, and people can ask questions about how to get more hits etc. what do you think? I think this would be very useful.

ok Mo Money, not to be a hard a** or anything. but you have to resize your sig. Its too large. looks very unprofessional and does not add appeal to the thread.
how you had it before was great.

about your idea. Great idea. a Traffic Section would be great.
what is everyone elses opinion?

We have a Site Traffic Talk forum. There is a subforum called All The Rest & Link Swaps section. That would be a good place to ask questions about traffic.

When you say promo section, are you referring to a place where people can leave ads?

no, not a place for people to leave ads. a place for what i said! I think that there is also maby a little to many sections, there should these sections and then no more then 3-4 sub sections within each:

Coding - subsections (languages, scripts, questions)
Promotion - subsections (tips, questions, programs)
Everything else - subsections (humor, webmaster news, current events discussion)

:::::::::::
maby like 1 or 2 more but I cant think of anything else that is needed?

I think this idea has merit. A forum for people to discuss how they got their traffic, what they did to attain it, would be a useful commodity for the forum...

My only concern is, would people want to share their details? Some people are very overprotective of their data, and some things that people say may not be liked...

I guess its down to whether or not it would create enough interest or not.

I do agree we might have one or two too many forums...this could do with being looked into - possible reductions somewhere?

I was only clarifying. You can look at Referral Mania Links/URLs for some ways to get traffic/clicks/views.

A site promotion section might be a good subforum under Site Traffic Talk. Anyone else have comments on this addition?

IMO, we have a good number of forums and subforums. Less divisions would make the separate forums more crowded and harder to find specific information.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Dave

Well the "All the Rest & Link Swaps" was meant to be for discussing any kinds of site promotion (other than the Search engines because we already have forum for that).

Maybe we need to rename it to clarify the forums purpose?
