I am very keen to exchange detailed security experience with specialists and learn to make stronger stuff. I have a fair bit of "maverick" experience in this field.
I don't want to enter into any discussion of this nature on the website admin (or computer) forum categories without finding out how much frankness would be allowed on this forum, and if understandably you don't want any technical matters relating to securing machines and accounts and sites and by necessity the opposite ie breaking in: frank discussions of how people do it, from the ground up, on those open public forums, is there any chance of a passworded unbot-crawled subforum just for this topic? I think people here can learn a lot about making stuff safer without having to first suffer insecurity's flaws and learn the hard way.
Some things I'd like to explain would include the ways in which someone would go about trying to break into arbitrary or specific accounts of a website, eg forums and other member sites. As well as knowledge I have discovered on the matter of how people break into email accounts (and through doors like that, then into stronger member sites like maybe twitter or facebook).
And I'd like to learn a lot more than I know about server security, although I have learned quite a lot already, including from specialists like those on this site, but never in the open, always in private discussion.
Security is becoming ever more important, so I hope there is some way we can pan our knowledge on this topic and make sure as many of us as possible are not vulnerable to arbitrary or specific malevolent interference, hindrance or destruction of the things we work hard building to make work well...
